Researched the costs involved in attaching
components to printed circuit boards for a client
who invented a localized joining process to avoid use of
lead
based
solders that cause environmental problems. The information,
used to formulate their marketing strategy, helped
the company win more than $8 million in VC funds and other
Federal Grants.
Uncovered and validated competitor financials
in 3 European countries for a client who was planning
to set up shop in each country. The competitors were
small divisions of multi-national companies. The
work helped the client decide to make a direct investment
in one of the countries and to develop a plan for
addressing
various markets there. So far, their investment is
on target to make the return that was estimated.
Evaluated competitor value propositions for
a client endeavoring to overcome threats aimed at
a product that was nearing its end-of-patent life. Of the
many
options that the research revealed, the client took
the
approach of outperforming competitors on delivery.
Provided market size information, and forecasted growth figures,
competitor activity, and competitor
pricing for two product lines when a client acquired
a competitor and wanted to evaluate the offerings of the
newly-acquired
company.
Conducted a current awareness study in which
we monitored the subject of a local political “hot
potato.” A brief report was filed every morning
for fourteen weeks, allowing the client to tailor its
message to the audience.
Profiled a new industry for a client to help
determine if there was a market for the by-product
that they discovered in their paper-making processes.
